Kiriya Ryokan is located in the historical mountain village of Nozawa Onsen – home to one of Japan’s most famous ski resorts.
Surrounded by 13 public hot spring baths (or onsen), Shrines, and picturesque mountains, Kiriya is the ideal choice for a traditional and relaxing holiday.
We are thankful that our guests can enjoy their trips again.
The health and safety of our guests and inn staff is our top priority at Kiriya Ryokan.
For this reason, we take the utmost care to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus while ensuring everyone’s physical and mental refreshment, safety, and peace of mind.

Like most Ryokan, we are a family-run establishment and have been for five generations. Ko is the current custodian and the face of Kiriya.
As an English-speaker, she will guide you through a very Japanese experience, while you enjoy our traditional hand-crafted rooms, internationally acclaimed Kaiseki meals, and friendly service. Kiriya Ryokan also features our own private spring-fed Onsens and bathing facilities. We are located in the oldest part of our historic village and are less than a 5 minute walk to the main street and its many restaurants. For the skiers, we are only 3 minutes walk away from the ‘Yu-Road’ moving pathway that unloads directly on the Hikage slopes.
